Welcome to the Computer Science Department At Southern University
The department offers the BS and MS degrees in computer science. It excels in both teaching and research, featuring an outstanding faculty with broad range of research interest. Our undergraduate program features a strong curriculum designed to give students a solid fundamental foundation and the opportunity to pursue several interesting paths in upper level courses. Our graduate program attracts an international student body, who benefit from the specialized knowledge of our award-winning faculty.
The BS program consists of two options: Information Systems and Scientific. This program and its options are accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org.
The Computer Science Department has concentrations in the following areas:
- Robotics
- E-Business
- Supply Chain Management
- Video Game Programming and Web Development
On the research front, our faculties, staff and students are exploring innovative ideas in areas that range from Networking, XML, Robotics, Sensor Network, Telecommunications, Software Engineering, and Cyber Security through Bioinformatics.
